Does this new spin and fix thomas go to the wooden or plastic tracks?

It's a plastic piece of junk that doesn't even connect to the other plastic Thomas sets that are made. My kid only wanted it because they advertise it at the end of "Hiro of the Rails " So annoyed! Check the source link pictures of the toy up close. They show the train in action and it's clearly plastic rails.
