Can i use paint blocks on salt dough ornament?
I have made some halloween decoartions with salt dough. I have found a box of paint blocks, the ones that you use the paint brush to add water to. Can I use this type of paint on the hardened dough models? any information at all about salt dough models will be appreciated thanks o yes its colour blocks that you add water to using the paint brush
Back in the fall of 1977 a prominent Woman's magazine showed how to make a dough art Nativity characters.?
Does anyone out there remember which magazine showed these remarkable little figurines made out of dough? There was Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the three Wise Men, the Shepard's, Angels, Camels, Donkeys and Lambs. It gave you pictures of each, how to make the dough, how to paint them, how to make the beards and how to preserve them for years to come. My friend who lived next door in Charleston, SC, had the magazine and we made them together. I was pregnant with my first child. I put them on our tree every year up until a couple of years ago when I discovered that the box I had them stored in had gotten wet and destroyed them all. So, now I have 4 grandchildren and I want to try and find them again to remake them. Is there someone out there that can help me find the pictures out of this magazine article? Easy materials to make a sculpture dough?
Today, I want to sculpt something out of clay or whatever it is you use. I also wanted to paint it once it dries. Does anybody know what you need to make the clay, but uses common household items since I can't go to the store. It has to be the stuff that dries hard though

Why would someone dip their salt dough ornaments in wax?
This is related to my other question about salt dough. I read that someone dips their salt dough ornaments in candle wax after they have been baked and painted. They don't use varnish neither do I . Does the candle wax act as a sealer to the paint?What is the point to dipping salt dough in candle wax? Thanks
